In our catalogue at INVINIC we have exclusively, in stock and preserved in perfect condition the four vintages of the great cava Recaredo Turó d’en Mota, characteristic for its elegance and simplicity, as well as for a very limited production. This cava has also top ratings by Robert Parker.

The vineyard Turó d’ Mota, property of Cavas Recaredo, is located in Sant Adumi d’Anoia, in Alt Penedès, a particularly cold area, north oriented, where the grapes keep an acidity of great vivacity, allowing an ageing process longer than usual: more than 100 months in contact with its lees. This cava has also the honour of being the first Cava Gran Cru produced in Spain.

The four vintages are characterized by their elaborate cépage Xarel.lo, from the parcel “Turó D’en Mota”, planted in 1940 on extreme calcareous soils with a silty loam structure (a balance of sand, silt and clay) and presence of calcareous nodules.

The Recaredo Turó d’en Mota 1999, with 2,973 bottles produced, distinguishes itself by its elegance and a higher acidity, as a result of the cold, dry weather on that same year; Recaredo Turó d’en Mota 2000, with 2,990 bottles, is characterized by its exuberance; Recaredo Turó d’en Mota 2001, 2,770 bottles, was the last one to be released on the market, even later than the 2002 vintage; Recaredo Turó d’en Mota 2002 is the most scarce with only 2. 703 bottles produced and, in addition, was the best rated by the Guide to the Best Wines of Catalonia 2013, in a blind tasting among 1,724 wines from 370 Catalonian wineries, scoring 9.81 points out of 10 and ranking as the best Catalonian cava and wine.

From INVINIC cannot recommed enough this cava that represents the elegance of simplicity: one vineyard, one single grape variety, one vintage and a very limited production.

The Aloers 2010 is the first Penedés Denomination of Origin wine certified with the prestigious Demeter Biodynamic Farming, including it as a Green wine.

It is elaborated with the Xarel.lo (65%), Macabeo (24%) and Parellada (11%) grape varieties coming exclusively from the vineyards owned by Recaredo and located in the Alt Penedés area.

During the Middle Ages, those farmers owning the lands they were farming were known as “Aloers”. This term refers therefore to the union between the man and his land.

All the vineyards have been farmed following the Ecological and Biodynamic Farming standards and as such they are registered in the “Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica” and the German Demeter International certification.

With the Aloers it is intended to provide a fresh and genuine expression or our Mediterranean grape varieties growing in calcareous soils.
The aim is a lively and long lasting wine. This is the reason why all the work is done keeping a low production in the vineyards and watching the ripeness so that the natural and fresh acidity is kept.
Maceration on its lees during two months come next.
This wine might show entirely natural sediments.

Details of Cavas Recaredo:
The viticulture takes place 46 Ha. of our own vineyards working with the vines, acting only when necessary and seeking to ensure the natural balance of the vine, aiming to respect it as far as possible to achieve the best expression of every individual vintage. Therefore, viticulture is based solely on dry farming, we harvest the grapes only by hand and make completely dry cavas
The prority is the respect for biodiversity and the environment: vines are cultivated without using herbicides or insecticides and only employ natural organic fertilisers.
At Recaredo, growing vines requires paying close attention to the sky, the earth and the plant. This will allow to harvest grapes that can really express themselves.
