Robert Parker, the world famous wine guru, just published in his magazine The Wine Advocate, the best Spanish value wines. And, of course, the Pruno 2013 remains one of his favorite wines.

It tells us: “I have loved this wine in previous vintages and I still do in this 2013. It offers a large number of incredible nuances despite two years old oak used. This is another amazing wine of Spain for less than $20”.

As always, this will be one of the top-selling this year, and certainly will not disappoint the faithful devotees of this great wine.

Robert Parker is one of the most influential critics in the international wine scene today. Proof of this is what has happened recently with Pruno 2010, from the winery Finca Villacreces (DO Ribera del Duero).

The critic used adjectives like “spectacular” and “stunning” to describe the wine. He ranked it as the best wine in value for money, saying that “the wine is considerably above our expectations”. This review is summarized in the 94 points Parker obtained by Pruno 2010.

This is the highest score ever achieved by a Spanish wine under 15€ ($20).
Following the publication of this review, orders began to arrive and, in less than two weeks, the 200,000 bottles produced were sold out. As curiosity, 60% of the production is destined for export, mainly the U.S., as well as Germany and the UK also.

In the words of Lalo Anton, manager of the Finca Villacreces winery: “We knew we had a great wine, but we did not expect it to sell in record time (…). It seems that consumers continue to rely on Parker to obtain the best wine at a reasonable price”.
