Leo Messi, 3-times winner of the Ballon d’Or (European Footballer of the Year), begins a collaboration with Argentine wineries Casa Bianchi, to launch a line of 3 wines, one white and two red wines, under the brand “LEO” and whose profits will go to the Foundation Leo Messi, which he sponsors, and aims to act on behalf of disadvantaged children and adolescents.
The activities of the Foundation include scholarships for medical specialists in treatment of cancer and in paediatrics, cooperation in the fight against Chagas disease in the province of Santiago del Estero (Argentina) or the rehabilitation of children’s hospitals and sports centers in disadvantaged areas of Argentina.
All three are single varietal wines. One White wine made from Torrontés grapes and two Reds made 100% with Malbec.
Leo Premium Malbec 2010 Aged for 12 months in French and American oak.
Leo Malbec 2011 Young Red wine.
Leo Torrontés 2011 Young White wine.
Leo Messi is the next player in FC Barcelona to get a line of wines, after Andres Iniesta, with its own winery (Iniesta Bodegas), which markets wines under the brand Finca El Carril (D.O. Manchuela) and Corazon Loco (wine of the Land of Castile).
