Because we do enjoy trying and tasting new things, expand the grape verieties, enjoy new vinification methods, terroirs and new wineries, to surprise our customers and ourselfs, we have a many new entries in our cathalog for the month of March. Among them, there is one standing above the rest, the wines from Bodega Sumarroca<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n This winery, of Catalonian origin, owns 464 Hectares of vineyards, enough to allow them control over the whole process: from the field to the bottle..<\/p>\n The winery has properties in the A.O. Rueda and A.O. Montsant, but the core, the place where it all started, is the A.O. Pened\u00e8s: 403 Hectares where a wide range of grape varieties are grown and treated with affection, making it the largest property in this A.O.:<\/p>\n – Whites: Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat and Gew\u00fcrztraminer. \n– Reds: Tempranillo, Merlot, Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Pinot noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.<\/p>\n
\nWhite wine
\nGrape variety: Muscat, Gew\u00fcrztraminer and Xarel.lo.
\nTasting notes: A special wine that aims to harmonize the virtues of three quite aromatic grape varieties. It reveals a scent of floral notes and ripe summer fruits. The mid-palate shows itself opulent, balanced and round.<\/p>\n
\nWhite wine.
\nGrape variety: Riesling.
\nTasting Notes: a fresh wine with a slightly acidic contrast. It presents a yellow colour with greenish reflections. Complex and elegant aromas with hints of apricot and pear, combined with reductive notes of tar and woodland undergrowth.<\/p>\n
\nWhite wine
\nGrape variety: Muscat
\nTasting note: a very nice white flowers combination. Soft in the mid-palate, structured and long.<\/p>\n
\nYoung white wine.
\nGrape variety: Gew\u00fcrztraminer.
\nTasting note: bright yellow colour. Delicate and pleasing aroma with floral hints of rose and jasmine. On the palate it is silky and fresh, with a long and perfumed aftertaste.<\/p>\n
\nCava (Sparkling), aged for an average of 3 and a half years.
\nGrape variety: Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada and Chardonnay.
\nTasting note: pale yellow colour. Fresh aroma and fruity notes from the cuvee and the yeast ageing. Easy to drink, with a dry, yet creamy attack.<\/p>\n
\nCava (Sparkling), aged for over 36 months.
\nGrape variety: white (Chardonnay and Parellada) and red grape varieties (Pinot Noir) combined.
\nTasting note: bright, pale yellow colour with persistent, small bubbles. Very interesting, complex nose that sets it apart from the conventional features of cavas and sparklings. A kind and creamy brut.<\/p>\n
\nYoung red wine.
\nGrape varieties: Merlot, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon.
\nTasting note: It is soft and velvety with an graceful, raspberry and cherry intensity. In the mid-palate, balsamic notes freshen the wine.<\/p>\n
\nWhite wine.
\nGrape variety: Chardonnay.
\nTasting notes: soft attack, fruity and fresh.<\/p>\n
\nRed wine, aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.
\nGrape variety: Handpicked, selected grapes of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
\nTasting notes: Full-bodied, strong and complex.<\/p>\n
\nCava (Sparkling) Ros\u00e9.
\nGrape variety: a medium depth pink color and red fruit aromas, with notes of ripe cherry, strawberry and plum. The attack is fresh with a persistent and pleasant aftertaste.<\/p>\n
\nWhite wine
\nGrape variety: Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada and Muscat.
\nTasting notes: it exhibits a rich and fresh bouquet with hints of white fruit. The mid-palate is lively and fruity.<\/p>\n
